The Hare, another power animal for me has been a presence in my life since I was a child, appearing as the great shape-shifter in the stories of Victor O’Donovan Power and racing through the fields that skirted the River Shannon where I learned Nature in its finest and purist form. As a student of the open unspoiled landscape into which I was born, the Hare became the athlete, the survivor and the link between reality and magic. Part of a rich superstition that painted my early life with a colour-filled treasure chest that drew from both this world and the next.
