This new series of Noreen Walshe’s work, Fine Art and Photographic images under the brand name N O R E E N W A L S H E – A R T & PHOTOGRAPHY was launched in June 2015.
A selection of her creations is now available in Greeting Cards and Prints. They are suitable for the home market and the world-wide public as the appeal of the universal is inherent in all her work. The images in this collection are unique and varied, refl ecting the experiences of the artist over twenty three years of professional exploration and travel. Noreen Walshe, born in Limerick, is an honours graduate of NCAD (1992) in Fine Art Painting. During her time studying, she spent a period in NSCAD, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She works full-time in her studio near the Hill of Tara, Co. Meath. Exhibiting both at home and abroad, her work in oils, acrylics and watercolours have a strong sense of line and colour. Her exhibitions are usually themed and subject matter varies from the sensory interpretation of music to the narrative and the direct observation of the human fi gure, the face and nature in its different contexts. India, Canada, the Arctic, France, Italy and the Aran Islands all appear with equal strength and concentration in her different series of paintings. Walshe published a book of her work in 2001 MOVING CARPET to accompany an exhibition she had in the Irish Arts Centre, New York. Her work is in private and public collections , notably those of President Michael D Higgins, Actor Brendan Gleeson, the estate of the late Actress Maureen O Hara, AIB , Meath County Council and Centre Re Finance, IFSC, Dublin Noreen has featured on TV programmes such as SPLEÁCHADH, as Artist representing Co. Meath, NATIONWIDE, LÉARGAS and in 2014 she worked with the Brennan Brothers for the Christmas Special of AT YOUR SERVICE/ TO THE RESCUE, painting a mural (The Four Seasons 70ft x 15ft) at the Enable Ireland Facility in Sandymout Avenue, Dublin 4.
Her most recent exhibition of paintings and illustrations (Spirit of Childhood in Limerick – Christmas, December 2015) was in the Hunt Museum, Limerick and was based on fi ve stories that she wrote and broadcast on RTE Lyric FM in 2008. It is Noreen Walshe’s dream to continue to exhibit in Ireland, abroad in The USA, Canada and Europe or wherever her work takes her. She has three books in working process, both as author and illustrator and she anticipates finding the ideal publisher to bring these works to a wide audience. All the designs in the cards and prints of Noreen Walshe have been created, produced and packed in Ireland.
